James MacNish Porter, Partner

James advises on corporate finance matters including mergers; acquisitions; disposals and joint ventures, including life and general insurance companies.

He is particularly experienced in financial services regulation and acted for The Association of British Insurers in setting up Pension Advisers Support System Limited (a joint venture between 30 life insurance companies formed to assist independent financial advisers with the pensions review) and the associated £100m loan scheme for independent financial advisers.

James became a partner at Beachcroft in 1998 and is on the editorial board of the firm's newsletter; Insurance Focus.
