David Farmer, Partner

David has widespread experience in advising trustees and employers of occupational pension schemes in relation to all areas of pension law. As well as advising on day-to-day matters (for both defined benefits and defined contribution schemes) he also enjoys being involved with specific projects such as scheme mergers and company sales and acquisitions.

David’s most recent work has involved advising clients facing significant change in their pension fund arrangements. This advice includes raising member contributions, altering future service accrual, analysing the employer’s contribution covenant and advising in relation to winding-up issues.

David is a member of the firm’s Employment team and has expertise on advising on all areas of discrimination and pensions aspects on TUPE transactions. David is also involved in advising on the pensions issues involved in PFI projects both for the private and public sector clients.
